The Blessing – Aotearoa New Zealand

[vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]

This EVENT is an invitation to join New Zealand’s virtual choir for our own “The Blessing” YouTube video.

This song video initiative is:

  • nation-wide
  • professionally produced
  • with respectful integration of the te Reo Māori language
  • representing the rich diversity of Kiwi culture

It will feature some of the best and most recognisable voices (and plenty that are not!) from the Christian Church in Aotearoa and is intended for a global audience.

To be a part of the choir you must follow these 5 important STEPS:

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]STEP 1: Access “The Blessing | Aotearoa/New Zealand” DropBox and download the folder of ESSENTIAL RESOURCES found there by clicking this link:

Download instructions and music files[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]STEP 2: Read, understand and be ready to follow the (unapologetically rather detailed) SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS .pdf found there.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]STEP 3: Video yourself singing our version of “The Blessing” in accordance with the SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS by Wednesday, 10 June. (Very soon!)[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]STEP 4: By Wednesday, June 10th, complete and submit our simple Google form using this link:

Submit your recordings and details

[gap height=”16″]

Once your completed form is submitted, your confirmation message will include a Dropbox link. Use that link to upload your vocal video!

NB: The Google form will require you (if you’re 18 years or older) or your parent/guardian (if you’re younger) to give the producers your permission to use your vocal/video in The Blessing | Aotearoa/New Zealand video. You’ll also need to have permission from your Church/Marae leadership before we can use that information in the video.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]STEP 5: Give us a week or so to put it all together and get ready to enjoy and share the finished product on YouTube![/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

The time is NOW for The Church of Aotearoa/New Zealand to join the global choir! The success and overall quality of our video will largely depend on singers like YOU! Your time, talent and efforts are MUCH appreciated!
Together, we can do this.

Lagrime di San Pietro

Lagrime di San Pietro

[vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Orlando di Lasso’s heavenly masterpiece soars to breathtaking new heights in this spine-tingling a cappella performance by the outstanding Los Angeles Master Chorale, devised by renowned theatre director Peter Sellars.

An achingly beautiful choral work too sublime to put into words, Lagrime di San Pietro was the great Renaissance composer Orlando di Lasso’s final and most famous composition. Completed just before di Lasso’s death, it conveys a powerful sense of mortality while vividly illuminating the Biblical story of St. Peter, whose grief after he denies Christ surges through this profoundly moving cycle of 20 madrigals (songs).

Cementing their place as one the world’s finest choral ensembles, the outstanding Los Angeles Master Chorale has taken di Lasso’s sacred polyphonic epic to the highest plane imaginable. Under Peter Sellars’ direction, their spine-tingling rendition matches seamlessly with elegant stage movement – a simple yet striking theatrical interpretation that demands near super-human vocal skill from the 21 singers.

For one special night only and coming to NZ exclusively for Auckland Arts Festival, experience the emotional riches of di Lasso’s crowning glory and the supreme talents of the Los Angeles Master Chorale in perfect harmony.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

New album ‘Rivers’ in the pipeline

This album was conceived on the shores of the Waikato River where it exits Lake Taupo by the Taupo township in NZ. I walked there one morning after the final concert of the ‘Sanctuary’ Tour May 2014. I was deeply impacted by the depth and rich blue/green colour of the water and how it seemed like the perfect metaphor for the Christian walk. The Holy Spirit has the ability to reach into our inmost beings, to touch us, to cleanse us, refine us, redefine us, lead us, and even comfort us and counsel us in our most testing times.

Since that time I have done many bible studies on various aspects of water in scripture. The result is this new collection of songs. Essentially, a collection of songs about faith and the different aspects of our Christian walk.

Recording January 2019 – provisional Release Date is March[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]

DARKNESS ON THE FACE   A moody interpretation of Genesis 1.
I FOUND GRACE   Noah found himself in a violent society, as we do.
DESERT SONG   Moses found himself in a desert, the ultimate test.
JOY COMES IN THE MORNING   A setting of Psalm 30. The psalmist encourages us to see beyond our grief to a place of surrender, peace and joy.
YOU SEARCH ME   An interpretation of Psalm 139, a wonderful psalm of intimacy.
RIVERS   Those who believe in Jesus will have a wellspring of life within them.
RUN TO ME   One of the most popular songs from recent concerts, based on John 9.
UPPER ROOM   I visited the upper room in Jerusalem & knew one day I would write this song.
TAKE IT TO THE CROSS  This song often has a  powerful anointing that touches hearts.
HOLE IN MY HEART   From the perspective of Peter who denied Jesus, and then wept bitterly.
PEACE WILL COME   An anthem for war-torn Eastern Europe, written in Zalaszántó Hungary.
BLESSED HOPE   As a Christian my daily hope is in Jesus.  I look expectantly for His return.
SEBBY’S SONG   A poem by Belgian poet Hannah C Fairchild, dedicated to her lost son.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Festival One 2019

Festival One 2019

25-28 JAN 2019

Music, Art & Community. Like the rhythm of a pulsing heart, these three things beat in the core of who we are. Music, Art & Community. Three practices in which we explore and find meaning. Music, Art  & Community. Three forms of expression tying us into what it means to be human.

With community the central icon on it’s metaphorical  flag, Festival One comes across a little different. Born in the dusty summer of 2015, the festival has now run continuously for 4 strong years. Each year a wave of sun-soaked people from around the tiny islands of New Zealand come together and pitch their tents with intense expectation.

Over the last 4 years bands such as Switchfoot, Gungor, All Sons & Daughers, Bethel Music, Tenth Avenue North, The Brilliance along side speakers Rikk E. Watts, Sam Bloore, two tonnes of free meat and a vibe that struggles to be explained have greeted these pilgrims.

Festival One capped numbers at 5000

Scripture In Song, Celebrating 50 Years

Scripture In Song, Celebrating 50 Years

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text]

This is and has been the Father’s work from the beginning to bring us into the home of his heart. This is our destiny.

George MacDonald

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]Come with us as we and some of our friends both local and international, worship God together, share treasures and pass on how we interpreted the original legacy of God’s word to us, “lead the people to me”. When we first began Scripture in Song this was a simple but clear mandate.

Over these two days, we will sing, celebrate, talk story, learn and look toward what’s ahead in corporate worship. We’ll do all this together in anticipation that the tenderness of God’s Spirit will give us leadership and wisdom to liberate and prepare his people for a new anointing. There is a ripple of the knowledge of new wine, light for the darkness, we need to prepare.

Please join us. Together we’re a family. A Bride preparing for our Groom who will return for us. Let us make ourselves ready with anticipation and great joy.
