Role:Â Application Support Specialist
Reports to:Â IT Manager
The Role
The Application Support Specialist will support the IT Manager to maintain the high integrity of cbm data and systems, so that the functional arms of the organisation work smoothly. This role is responsible for our CRM system, along with being the first point of contact for the organisation’s ICT and peripheral equipment. The role is vital to support delivery of fundraising, and reporting objectives, as well as delivering on the value of being good stewards of our resources.
Key Responsibilities
Database
Ensuring overall database integrity, accuracy and security, including:
configuration (uploads, exports, upgrades, imports and/or global changes to the database),
gift administration (management of campaigns, appeals, package codes and gift coding) and
database administration (managing donor profiles, troubleshooting database issues) within the database.
Generate data files used for appeal mail outs and contact lists.
2. Reporting
Utilise data to generate insightful reports for stakeholders, providing valuable insights into fundraising and finance performance.
Providing customised reporting to the management team, and financial data for analysis of return on investment.
3. Business Intelligence development
Identify and assess areas within the business where processes and workflows can be enhanced to maintain competitiveness.
Provide advice and support on IT-related matters.
4. Management of IT systems
Assist with oversight of cbm’s IT platform to ensure it is configured to deliver to the needs of users, provides a secure environment for donor data, and is reliable and cost effective.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and pain points.
Respond promptly to resolve internal issues related to computer applications and IT systems.
Maintain and support applications used by donor care, fundraising and finance teams.
Key competencies required
Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills & Experience:
Relevant tertiary qualification. (e.g. technology, with focus on business practices / administration, computer science or information systems or related field).
3 years’ experience in an ICT / database role.
Strong database administration skills, preferably with experience in CRM systems.
Broad understanding of various software, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Understanding of database management and its application to marketing campaigns.
Understanding of cybersecurity best practice.
High level of IT literacy and an eye for detail.
Previous exposure to web development and website management is advantageous.
Proficiency with analysis and the development of reports and queries.
Hands-on approach to problem-solving and a proactive attitude
Excellent oral and written communication skills, correspondence, and reports.
Proven organisational and coordination skills and the ability to prioritise tasks.
Ability to develop high quality relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
