Hope Rising Farm (HRF) is a small charity in Ngaruawahia that empowers tamariki, rangatahi, and women through horse and farm-based programmes that build confidence, leadership, and life skills. We use connection with horses and nature to help individuals overcome challenges and thrive.
We are looking for a positive, adaptable, team-focused Programme Coordinator to join our passionate team, overseeing the day-to-day running, quality, and safety of our programmes.
About the role:Â
Plan and deliver our equine and farm-based programmes in collaboration with the Operations and Administration Managers.
Work closely with schools, social services, and caregivers to align programmes with participant goals.
Train and support Mentors, ensuring quality, safety, and a warm, empowering environment for all participants.
Actively contribute to developing and evolving our programmes to meet community needs while aligning with HRF’s vision and kaupapa.
Support risk management, health and safety requirements, and participant wellbeing within sessions.
Foster strong relationships with participants, providers, staff, and volunteers, ensuring HRF remains a place of hope, growth, and encouragement.
About you:Â
You are a practical organiser and natural people and horse person who thrives in a dynamic, changing environment. You will bring:
A minimum of 2 years horse experience
An understanding of and commitment to practising Natural Horsemanship
An understanding of Equine Assisted Learning is advantageous
A relevant tertiary qualification and/or practical experience working with youth, women, and families.
The ability to plan and coordinate multiple programmes while adapting to daily changes (weather, participant needs, farm realities).
Excellent communication and networking skills, able to build warm and effective relationships across a wide range of stakeholders.
Confidence in managing group dynamics and responding calmly and wisely to participant needs.
Solid computer skills (Microsoft Office, OneDrive) and comfort with documentation and reporting.
