Position Summary

As an Intermediate QA Engineer, you will implement and optimize QA workflows to ensure the delivery of high-quality software that empowers global evangelism. You are a proactive, analytical professional who thrives on collaboration and is passionate about leveraging modern technology to expand test coverage and product reliability.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Automation Engineering: Code robust, scalable scripts using TypeScript/JavaScript and Playwright, converting manual cases into executable automation.
  • Framework & Process Optimisation: Design and maintain test automation frameworks using industry best practices to improve overall QA efficiency.
  • Quality Lifecycle: Manage full-spectrum testing including manual, automated, security, API, and performance testing
  • System Integrity: Develop and automate regression suites to ensure new features do not impact existing functionality
  • Collaboration: Support QA efforts across multiple projects. Collaborate in cross-functional teams, participating in planning sessions, clarifying acceptance criteria and mitigating risk early
  • Bug Lifecycle Management: Validate, log, and prioritize detailed bug reports using ticket-tracking tools (e.g., Linear), ensuring timely resolution
  • AI & Innovation: Leverage AI tools to accelerate workflows while applying critical thinking to validate and refactor AI-generated output for logic and security. Explore modern tools to improve workflow.
  • Continuous Learning and Teaching: Learn from senior staff and proactively seek growth opportunities. Mentor junior staff, providing guidance, feedback and training
  • Documentation: Maintain clear documentation for test plans, processes and product behaviour

Qualifications & Technical Skills

Core Requirements

  • Experience: 2–4 years of hands-on QA/programming experience with a heavy focus on test automation.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (beneficial)
  • Core Programming: Strong proficiency in at least one modern language, preferably TypeScript/JavaScript.
  • Tooling: Practical experience with automation frameworks (in particular Playwright) and API testing tools (e.g. Postman, Newman).
  • DevOps/SDLC: Solid understanding of Git, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps), and the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) within Agile environments

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with mobile automation (Appium) or performance testing (JMeter).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), Docker, and SQL/database testing.
  • Experience in non-profits, or mission-driven or Christian ministry environments.
