Summary of Position

The Senior UI/UX Designer role requires a high level of autonomy, strategic thinking, and creative excellence. This position shapes the user experience across our digital products in alignment with our organisational mission. You will oversee and mentor more  junior designers and ensure that design excellence is embedded into the entire product lifecycle. This role is ideal for someone with deep expertise in UX/UI principles, a refined design aesthetic, and a passion for advancing digital evangelism and discipleship.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the end-to-end design process from discovery to delivery across multiple projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, engineers, QA, users and other stakeholders to define and elevate the user experience.
• Evolve the design system, ensuring consistency, scalability, and accessibility  across products.
• Drive user research and usability testing to inform and iterate design decisions.
• Design and present user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs using tools like Figma, balancing business needs and user goals.
• Champion accessibility, responsiveness, and inclusive practices across all digital products.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve design workflows and processes in collaboration with engineering and product teams.
• Mentor and informally supervise more junior designers, providing guidance, feedback, and professional development support.
• May be called upon to lead small design pods or initiatives.

Requirements

Education / Work Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in UI/UX design with a focus on digital products.
• Experience leading design projects from concept through execution, preferably in cross-functional, agile teams.
• Portfolio showcasing deep UX thinking and elegant UI execution
• Experience in a non-profit or mission-driven organization is a plus. Familiarity with Christian ministry environments can be beneficial.

Technical Skills & Knowledge

• Advanced proficiency in design tools such as Figma (preferred), Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar
• Strong expertise in user-centered design, interaction design, and systems thinking.
• Experience in leading usability testing and user research
• Experience building and managing design systems at scale.
• Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and front-end development principles is a plus.
• Experience with rapid prototyping via prompt engineering is a plus.
• Experience designing for both responsive web and native mobile platforms is a plus
• Experience working within Agile or Lean UX environments is a plus
