Keswick Christian Camp
Lead with purpose. Serve with excellence. Make a lasting impact.
Keswick Christian Camp is seeking a passionate, visionary Camp Director to be the operational and spiritual leader of our Christ-centred ministry. If you are a gifted leader with strong business acumen, a servant heart, and a deep commitment to Christian hospitality, this is a rare opportunity to shape the future of a much-loved camp that serves churches, schools, families, sports teams, and conventions across New Zealand.
About the Role
As Camp Director, you will oversee day-to-day operations, financial performance, staff leadership, and the guest experience. You will champion Keswick’s Christian vision while driving sustainable growth in occupancy, revenue, and facility utilisation — including our Airbnb/short-term accommodation offering.
You will ensure Keswick remains a vibrant place of relaxation, community, and spiritual inspiration while building a thriving, sustainable future for the camp.

Strategic & Operational Excellence: Implement the strategic plan, deliver strong operational outcomes, and maintain excellent relationships with the Keswick Council and Committees.
Financial Performance: Drive occupancy, profitability, and revenue growth through smart pricing, business development, targeted marketing, and diversifying income streams (including addressing seasonal challenges like February).
Team Leadership: Build and develop a high-performing staff team. Prioritise professional growth, wellbeing, and a healthy, spiritually enriching work environment.
Guest Experience & Operations: Oversee accommodation, catering, bookings, facilities maintenance, health & safety, and deliver exceptional hospitality rooted in Christ-like care.
Business Development: Build strong partnerships with churches, schools, Christian networks, activity providers, and tourism operators to increase bookings and community engagement.
Major Events: Provide key operational leadership and support for the Summer and Easter Conventions.
Governance & Risk: Ensure strong compliance, risk management, and transparent reporting to Council.
- What You’ll Bring
A mature Christian faith with a clear personal testimony and alignment with Keswick’s evangelical ethos.
Proven leadership experience in operational management, preferably in camps, hospitality, conference centres, or Christian ministry settings.

Experience in guest experience, facilities management, and health & safety.
A proactive, entrepreneurial approach to business development and marketing.
Strong communication, governance, and stakeholder management skills.
