Located on the beautiful Hibiscus Coast of Auckland, KingsWay is a high achieving, growing, state integrated Christian school catering for Year 1-13 students, with a current roll of over 2000 students.  Our staff are supportive and collaborative, and our work is inspired by love/aroha, heartened by faith/whakapono in Jesus Christ, and motivated by gospel hope/tūmanako.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Director of Operations, you will be responsible for overseeing our property and operations including health and safety for all parts of the school. This role requires a self-motivated leader with attention to detail who is highly effective at establishing relationships and who has a strong understanding of developing and implementing processes and procedures within an education context.

 

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Effectively leading, managing, coaching, and developing the Operations team
  • Key relationship manager with the Proprietor operational staff
  • Contributing to and working with the Executive Principal on executing the school’s strategic operational goals and 10-year property plan
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with all operations and property suppliers
  • Oversight of the maintenance of property, buildings, furniture, and fittings
  • Management of utility and service contracts
  • Oversight of KingsWay Trading (including rentals, uniform and tuck shops, and other business projects)
  • Effective management of whole school health and safety procedures and practices including oversight of our Health Centre.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Substantial leadership experience with the ability to foster trust and build cohesive teams
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Sound project management skills
  • Health and safety experience or knowledge is preferred as is experience in managing property projects
  • Experience in an education context is an advantage.

Remuneration

If a registered teacher is the successful applicant, your employment will be under the Area School Teachers’ Collective Agreement and in addition to your teachers’ salary, you will be paid 4 Management units. Your FTE distribution will be 0.8 FTE Director of Operations, 0.2 FTE Teaching.

If the successful applicant is not a registered teacher, your employment will be under the Support Staff in Schools’ Collective Agreement and your contract will be full-time, 52 weeks per annum at Grade 7 within the Administration matrix with step to be determined based on experience.
