Introduction
mainly music International Trust (legal name) is an exciting and creative Christian organisation that helps country entities (mainly music Australia Ltd, mainly music New Zealand, and mainly music UK) assist churches to connect with their community. It acts as an umbrella organisation for worldwide governance, monitoring, growth, and development.
We are seeking interest by people who could enhance and complement the skills of our board.
This governance board ensures there is a focus on the long term, policy and monitoring progress against the goals and strategy for the organisation.

Ephesians 5:1-2 – our ministry motivation
1-2 Watch what God does, and then you do it, like children who learn appropriate (proper) behaviour from their parents. Mostly what God does is love you. Keep company with him and learn a life of love. Observe how Christ loved us. His love was not cautious but extravagant. He didn’t love in order to get something from us but to give everything of himself to us. Love like that.
The Message
Overview
The Board review and provide input within:
The vision, mission, and values
- Strategic and internationally applicable policies and procedures
- Measuring and monitoring the strategic plan
- The organisation’s risk analysis
- Financial and influencer introductions
- Financial performance (including against rolling forecast)
- Monitoring systems
The Board is required to:
- Accept responsibility as the legal authority for the organisation ensuring compliance with the constitution
- Accept responsibility for and meeting the requirements of mainly music International Trust
- Set the parameters for the country boards to report on and monitor the same
- As the umbrella organisation for the worldwide development, mainly music International Trust acts as both protectors and holders of the brand
- Take ultimate responsibility for the organisation, ensuring all legal requirements are met
At times, Board members contribute to:
- Key staff placements and confirmation of discipline process
The Skills We’re Looking For
We are seeking people who have a mix of skills (but not necessary all these skills), namely Company Secretary; Branding; Financial; Legal; Missional; Theological; Networks; Fundraising; and International business/for purpose.
Previous governance experience would be advantageous but not imperative.
The Board Meetings
Board meetings are held six times a year on Mondays over Zoom from 7.30-9.30pm NZT. Board members are internationally located.
The Process
If you are interested in being considered for the mainly music International Trust Board, please send a summary (maximum two pages) of relevant experience and skills you could offer as a Board member. Please also include a listing of any Boards on which you currently serve. We would love to have your application by 13 February so you could join us and observe the meeting on 23 February. If you can’t get it to us before this meeting, we’ll invite you to observe the April meeting.
