Mairangi Bay Community Church (MBCC) is a very vibrant, family-oriented and Bible-based church with a love for the Lord, His Word and for people.  The church has a very multi-cultural flavor with members hailing from more than twenty nations (Kiwis, Chinese, Koreans, Japanese, Malaysians, Taiwanese, South Africans, Europeans and many others).  It is our passion to see all people pursue a lifelong and joyous relationship with the Lord Jesus.  We strive to equip and release every Christian believer for the work of the ministry, and we now have an opening for a coordinator for the Children’s ministry.

Purpose of the job

The Children’s Ministry Coordinator will disciple the children who attend MBCC’s Children’s Church and other activities and thus cultivate the next generation with their relationship to the Lord.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:
·      Developing a clearly defined vision and strategy for discipleship within the Children’s Ministry which goes hand-in-hand with the overall vision of MBCC
·      Discipling children to develop their spiritual and leadership skills
·      Building, developing, leading, training and recruiting people for the Children’s Ministry’s leadership team, to augment the current team which consists of key committed and gifted volunteers
·      Providing oversight and planning for all aspects of the Children’s ministry such as Sunday morning Children’s worship, specialized classes, outreach events, family events, camps and other development programs
·      Overseeing the Children’s Ministry’s budget and budgetary needs
·      Liaising between MBCC and other community organizations and people that relate to the Children’s Ministry
·      Developing and maintaining all security standards for the ministry
·      Maintaining contact with parents, leaders, and MBCC’s pastors and staff members

The successful candidate is expected to have proof of courses completed relating to children’s ministry (e.g., a diploma/bachelor’s in biblical studies or children’s ministry or related fields).  He or she should have a minimum three years of ministry serving experience and demonstrate a strong, proactive work ethic to effectively manage time and task.  Project management experience would be beneficial.  The prospective candidate should exhibit a positive attitude, a humble and willing disposition and have a heart for children.  Adherence to and support for the church’s Statement of Faith is vital.

This position is currently part-time with the possibility of becoming a full-time position over the next few years or as the ministry grows.  Working hours would be around 20 to 25 hours per week.  Please visit our website at www.mairangichurch.org.nz for more information about the church.
