Are you a passionate communicator who wants to make a real difference? Do you love crafting compelling stories and bringing ideas to life? Maxim Institute is seeking a Communications Coordinator to join our team and help promote thoughtful public policy through media, events, and digital storytelling.
About us:
Maxim Institute is an independent think tank working toward a free, just, compassionate, and hopeful society. Grounded by our Christian foundation, we conduct long-term research and analysis of the ideas shaping our society—helping leaders make wise decisions and engaging the public on vital issues.
About the role:
This is a dynamic and varied communications role that involves everything from managing social media and our website, producing newsletters and podcast episodes, to working on events like the Sir John Graham Lecture and our donor communications. You’ll work closely with the Executive Director, Communications Strategist, and wider team to deliver high-quality content that reflects our mission and values.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing Maxim’s digital channels (website, social media, Mailchimp).
Scheduling and publishing regular columns and monthly newsletters.
Producing podcasts, reels, briefing videos, and internal comms.
Contributing to marketing campaigns for events and publications.
Developing donor communications and engagement strategies.
Reporting on metrics and improving brand reach and perception.
What we’re looking for:
Experience and skills in digital communications, marketing, or PR, using relevant software to achieve results.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail and time management.
A team player with a willingness to learn and take feedback.
A heart for our mission and alignment with our faith-based values.
What we offer:
A purpose-driven team environment where ideas matter.
The chance to meaningfully influence public discourse.
Flexibility between 30–40 hours per week (to be agreed).
Based at our warm and welcoming Mt Roskill office in Auckland.
