The Justice Conference 2018

The Justice Conference 2018

The Justice Conference is one of the world’s largest Biblical and social justice conferences. Over two days, you’ll hear from local and international speakers, practitioners and artists who are leaders in their field.

Motivated by an understanding that our relationship with God compels us to love others and seek justice, we gather to worship and to equip the local church to join God in making all things new. Will you join us?[/vc_column_text][vc_video link=”” align=”center”][vc_column_text]

What to expect

Exploring our theme Whakahoungia, ‘All Things New’, in 2018, the Justice Conference will speak powerfully into the theology of justice, that God’s love compels love for others and engagement in social justice issues. Join hundreds of Christians from diverse backgrounds across New Zealand to worship and unpack how to follow Jesus in a modern world, exploring important themes such as:

  • Our bicultural journey in action
  • Connection between Christianity and Islam
  • The economics of entrenched inequality
  • Creativity for justice
  • Global justice and development
  • Restorative justice
  • Justice and the Earth

“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!” – Psalm 95:1

Come and worship – we love creating space for creative expression, like spoken word and music, and this year is no different. Come explore the connection between justice and creativity and be inspired by God’s movement at the Justice Conference.

Our programme for 2018 is not finalised yet, but we can guarantee it’ll be inspirational and thought-provoking. Check back here for any updates. If you want the latest news as soon as it comes out, like our Facebook.

Join us, November 2 + 3, as the church of Aotearoa comes together to participate in Whakahoungia, the renewal of all things.

Ngā mihi nui,
The Justice Conference Team

Isaiah 42:9 See, the former things have taken place, and new things I declare, before they spring into being I announce them to you.

In the midst of a fractured and crumbling world, we could be forgiven for following a narrative of failure and hopelessness. But God is writing a different story. Every single moment God is pulling creation towards His intended purposes to restore and renew. We’re invited to join in this prophetic act.

Love Thy Neighbour: A Justice Conference event

Love Thy Neighbour: A Justice Conference event

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Spend the evening with us for a Justice Conference event: Love Thy Neighbour. Come and explore what it really means to love your neighbour in today’s context. We believe that within Jesus’ short commandment exists the power to transform communities through sacrificial love and the practice of authentic justice. You’ll also have a chance to have your say and interact with speakers including Hannah Chapman from last year’s conference, Rev. Frank Ritchie, and Chris Farrelly, director of Auckland City Mission.

This event will encourage you on your justice journey and stimulate your interest in next year’s conference. During the evening, to accompany nibbles provided for FREE by the great chefs at Crave cafe, you’ll hear from inspirational speakers, musicians and spoken word performers. Come and connect with like-minded people about how we can engage in justice issues including bi-cultural reconciliation, homelessness & urban poverty, and understanding Justice as Christians.[/vc_column_text][vc_video link=”″ align=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1508297797781{background: #bbb6b2 url( !important;background-position: center !important;background-repeat: no-repeat !important;background-size: cover !important;}”][vc_column][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_custom_heading text=”Tickets are limited selling fast so get in quick to join the action! ” font_container=”tag:h2|font_size:32|text_align:center|color:%23ffffff” google_fonts=”font_family:Cookie%3Aregular|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal”][vc_btn title=”Get tickets and information here” align=”center” css=”.vc_custom_1508297351234{background-color: rgba(0,0,0,0.01) !important;*background-color: rgb(0,0,0) !important;border-radius: 4px !important;}” link=”||target:%20_blank|”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]
