Nominations are now CLOSED for the 2017 Unsung Heroes awards.
In May 2012 the board of New Zealand Christian Network inaugurated a new award – the New Zealand Christian Network Unsung Heroes Award, to recognise service by particular individuals or groups which had gone largely unrecognised, and thereby to bring glory to God who inspired and empowered them.
The 2012 inaugural award was presented to the Church of Christchurch for their “faithful and sacrificial service to the people of Christchurch in the wake of the September 2010 and February 2011 earthquakes, for working together in a way which demonstrates the spirit of unity which Jesus prayed for, and for being an inspiration and example to all Christians around New Zealand”.
Since 2013 the event has been hosted at Parliament with awards presented by Members of Parliament in four regular categories as well as special awards. Trophies are original artworks designed by Auckland artist Karen Sewell.
Nominations are now CLOSED for the 2017 Unsung Heroes awards for five weeks up to 31st July. The NZ Christian Network Board will consider all nominations and make their decisions at the start of August.
