Marijuana Referendum – Family First Presentation

[vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]Marijuana Referendum

An Important Presentation For Community, School, Church & Youth Leaders

If you are a youth worker church leader, counsellor, or community leader, we want to invite you – and your colleagues – to a special discussion on the issue of marijuana and the dangers of legalisation. The presentations and the resources which will be available will help you prepare for the upcoming referendum and the associated discussions which will occur in your organisation, amongst families you work with directly, and in the wider community.

BEN CORT is from Colorado. His passion for recovery, prevention and harm reduction comes from his own struggle with substance abuse. Sober since June 15, 1996, Ben has been a part of the recovery community in almost every way imaginable – from a recipient to a provider to a spokesperson. Ben has a deep understanding of the issues and a personal motivation to see the harmful effects of drug and alcohol abuse minimised.

Ben’s first book, Weed, Inc.: The Truth About the Pot Lobby, THC, and the Commercial Marijuana Industry, was released in September 2017.

Ben’s Ted-X talk in 2017, What commercialisation is doing to cannabis, has had more than 1.6 million views!

Big Marijuana has high hopes for New Zealand, but liberalising marijuana laws is the wrong path to go down if we care about public health, public safety, and about our young people. This is not a war on drugs – it’s a defence of our brains. Drug use is a major health issue, and that’s why the role of the law is so important.

We hope you (and any interested colleagues) can attend this important meeting.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”39303″ img_size=”full” style=”vc_box_shadow”][vc_video link=””][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1550198712475{padding: 10px !important;background-color: #f8f8f8 !important;border-radius: 10px !important;}”][vc_column][vc_row_inner equal_height=”yes” content_placement=”middle”][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

The Hikoi of the Lord

The Hikoi of the Lord

[vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]Pacific Pearls have joined with local Christian Maori networks and church ministries across Aotearoa for a “NZ Strategic Alliance of the Body of Christ”under the Banner of One Name. It’s Time! The Footprint of faith is deep and wide in this land. The Hikoi of the Lord is a call to the Churches of Aotearoa for a collective unification of the Body of Christ to corporately come together to worship, to pray, as we move from city to city, from Marae to Marae as “One Waka, One Nation, One People under One Name”. It is His name, “Ihu Karaiti – Jesus Christ” that unites us beyond church denomination, beyond ministries, beyond our cultures, beyond our gender, hapu, and Iwi.

Join us as we embark on an exceptional journey covering the four corners of our nation, into the Marae of Aotearoa, to worship, to pray and to unite. This is not an outreach to Maori; it is Maori opening our doors of the Marae to the churches of Aotearoa. It is our invitation to the Church. Join us on one Marae or several, as we, the Body of Christ strategically link together to stretch God’s tent pegs over the very foundations of our nation.

God’s Hikoi is a 12 week non-stop continuous journey hosted on 40 Marae covering the full length of our nation. From Cape Reinga to the Bluff and finishing at the Chatham Islands – from the 6th February to the 27th of April 2019. That’s “40 Marae over 12 weeks and every 3rd day we rise”.

We would love you to join us on one Marae or several, whatever works best for you. Check out for further details. Gather your whanau, your church, your people and join us on the highways and byways of our nation.

Nāu te rourou, nāku te rourou, ka ora ai te iwi
Your food basket, my food basket the people thrive

Together we all have a piece of the puzzle, and together we complete God’s picture for our nation. The footprint of faith is deep and wide in this land. It’s Time!

Everyone welcome at a location near you!

The Holy Spirit breathed life and ignited those words “HIKOI of the LORD”.

The Holy Spirit is calling His Bride “Maranga mai (arise), Rise up my Beloved” It’s Time!

Yes, It’s Time!  The Footprint of faith is deep and wide in this land.  God’s Hikoi is a collective unification of ministries/churches hosted by 40 Marae around NZ.  We are heeding the call of the Holy Spirit to “Arise and Awake the Nation” to invite, to unite, and move through our nation, from City to City, from Marae to Marae.

We invite You into the Marae of Aotearoa, to stand shoulder to shoulder, brother to brother, sister to sister, stretching His tent pegs over the very foundations of our nation.  This is a karanga to the frontline, a nationwide movement of the saints under ONE NAME – Ihu Karaiti – Jesus Christ.   His NAME unites us beyond church denominations,  beyond ministries, beyond cultures,  gender, hapu, and Iwi. a prophetic assignment moving as “One Waka, One Nation, One People”.

It’s time!  The footprint of faith is deep and wide in this land, and God’s fingerprint is on our nation for such a time as this.  From Te Rerenga Wairua (Cape Reinga) and moving down from the North. That’s 40 Marae over 12 weeks, and every 3rd day we rise and move to the next Marae and so on.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”39291″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row]

R3 Challenge

R3 Challenge

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_row_inner equal_height=”yes” content_placement=”middle”][vc_column_inner width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]

Happening on November 4th & 5th 2017, the Te Whakaora Tangata R3 challenge is a triathlon with a twist! It’s a fun and challenging event for individuals or families (to do together).

“R3” stands for ROW, RIDE and RUN (rowing, cycling, running) – the 3 “R” disciplines you can choose from or combine to knock-out the distance of 100km (or less if you choose) in 48 hours.

The R3 Challenge is a “virtual” event, which means you complete your challenge wherever and whenever you like – raising funds to help Te Whakaora RESTORE, RESOURCE and RECONNECT South Auckland’s most at-risk families. These R’s represent the three strategic aims of our work.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/3″][vc_column_text]

The R3 challenge has been designed with maximum fun and flexibility in mind, making sure the challenge is tough enough for individuals wanting to be tested, yet achievable enough for families to be able to do together. There are heaps of options:

  • Pick one, two, or all three “R” disciplines to achieve your target distance. How you want to achieve your goal is up to you. You can even add your own discipline if you choose – provided it starts with the letter “R” and doesn’t involve any form of automotive transportation (RIDING in a car, bus, train etc. doesn’t count, but feel free to ROLL on a skateboard or ROW a RAFT down some RAPIDS for a REAL adrenalin RUSH.
  • Complete a family or team R3 Challenge and add the total combined distance of each team member to reach your target.
  • Instead of a full 100km challenge, you can choose to complete a 50km or 25km R3 challenge as an individual or team.
  • Use exercise equipment (at the gym or home) to complete the challenge – rowing machines, treadmills and exercycles will track the distance covered for you. No gym membership? No worries! Auckland Council, YMCA and CLM are supporting the R3 Challenge – providing free access to their facilities to all participants on November 4th and 5th. Registered R3 participants will be sent an access pass so you can Just ROCK on up.
  • Not able to do the challenge on the weekend of November 4th & 5th? That’s fine – just pick another weekend in November to tackle it. The only RESTRICTION is you need to complete your challenge within 48hrs.

Our vision is to see once vulnerable families living well and children given every opportunity to reach their full potential. We work intensively with 100 high-risk parents every year, directly impacting 250- 350 vulnerable children. Disability Awareness Sunday is observed on the third Sunday in June

It is an opportunity to be intentional about disability awareness and is a great way to educate your church. It is not just about raising awareness, but celebrating and encouraging people with disabilities in their gifts and ministries.

[/vc_column_text][vc_video link=”″][vc_column_text]Created to mark Disability Awareness Sunday in New Zealand this video highlights that regardless of our ability we are all human. We all have hopes and dreams. We all need people we connect with.
