The Justice Conference 2018

The Justice Conference 2018

The Justice Conference is one of the world’s largest Biblical and social justice conferences. Over two days, you’ll hear from local and international speakers, practitioners and artists who are leaders in their field.

Motivated by an understanding that our relationship with God compels us to love others and seek justice, we gather to worship and to equip the local church to join God in making all things new. Will you join us?[/vc_column_text][vc_video link=”” align=”center”][vc_column_text]

What to expect

Exploring our theme Whakahoungia, ‘All Things New’, in 2018, the Justice Conference will speak powerfully into the theology of justice, that God’s love compels love for others and engagement in social justice issues. Join hundreds of Christians from diverse backgrounds across New Zealand to worship and unpack how to follow Jesus in a modern world, exploring important themes such as:

  • Our bicultural journey in action
  • Connection between Christianity and Islam
  • The economics of entrenched inequality
  • Creativity for justice
  • Global justice and development
  • Restorative justice
  • Justice and the Earth

“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!” – Psalm 95:1

Come and worship – we love creating space for creative expression, like spoken word and music, and this year is no different. Come explore the connection between justice and creativity and be inspired by God’s movement at the Justice Conference.

Our programme for 2018 is not finalised yet, but we can guarantee it’ll be inspirational and thought-provoking. Check back here for any updates. If you want the latest news as soon as it comes out, like our Facebook.

Join us, November 2 + 3, as the church of Aotearoa comes together to participate in Whakahoungia, the renewal of all things.

Ngā mihi nui,
The Justice Conference Team

Isaiah 42:9 See, the former things have taken place, and new things I declare, before they spring into being I announce them to you.

In the midst of a fractured and crumbling world, we could be forgiven for following a narrative of failure and hopelessness. But God is writing a different story. Every single moment God is pulling creation towards His intended purposes to restore and renew. We’re invited to join in this prophetic act.

Matt Maher Concert

Matt Maher Concert

[vc_row foundry_padding=”pb0″][vc_column][vc_column_text]Matt Maher is one of the biggest names in global contemporary Christian music and is an internationally acclaimed songwriter and worship leader. Born in Canada and now resident in Nashville, USA, Matt is excited about being invited to headline a Public Concert in Auckland, New Zealand.[/vc_column_text][vc_video link=””][vc_column_text]3 December 2017 at the Victory Convention Centre (doors open 6.30pm) will be a night to remember. A night to experience God and God’s people in community.

Since his 2008 major label debut, Matt has become a staple in the artistic and songwriting community. A five time-GRAMMY® nominee, he has garnered multiple radio successes writing and recording songs like “Lord, I Need You,” “Hold Us Together,” “Christ Is Risen,” “All The People Said Amen”, “Because he lives” and “Your Grace Is Enough.”

Matt has penned songs recorded by Chris Tomlin, Crowder, Third Day, Matt Redman, Hillsong, Passion and Meredith Andrews, among others.

Matt continues to perform and speak as a part of global high-profile events, including leading prayer, on stage with Pope Francis, with more than 3 million people at World Youth Day in Rio de Janeiro.

Matt has found that while we all come from different backgrounds, amass a range of experiences and even harbour conflicting opinions, the one thing that always binds us together is our humanity.

It’s the sinful side of me that helps me identify with other broken people and not see myself as better. Christianity doesn’t make me better than anybody else,” he contends. “The process of being transformed is sometimes a really messy process. When you can remember how far off you were when God found you, your own conversion stands as a testimony to God and mercy, but it also gives you a way to relate to other people.” After all, we were created by a loving God who designed us for a greater purpose. We are each on the pilgrimage of searching out that purpose, being transformed, saints and sinners.

Join Matt and 2000 others for a night of worship and community.
