Women As One officially launched on 11 August 2015, and is the name for the NZ South Pacific Women’s Commission for this region. We. We represent this part of the world on the Women’s Commission for the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA), and operate as a Women’s Leadership initiative within the New Zealand Christian Network.
The launch event, held at the AUT Campus in Auckland, brought together about 40 women from Auckland, Hamilton & Palmerston North to hear Amanda Jackson, the head of the WEA Women’s Commission, speak about the work and opportunity globally: to equip and empower women and girls to be a compassionate prophetic Christian voice – identifying and addressing the unique needs of women around the world.
Since the launch, we have been in discussions with many women in order to better understand how we can be relevant in the NZ context.
