Special Character Statement:
The Open Home Foundation – Te Whare Kaupapa Awhina – is a Christian Community Response, working in service of a vision that began in 1977, of:
*Every child and young person growing in a secure, loving family and receiving a depth of care which will bless them throughout their life.
We are an organisation whose work is a daily, practical expression of the Christian gospel. We work out of our Christian Kaupapa that draws on our common belief in Christ and a commitment to providing a service that integrates faith and professional skills.
Our staff and foster parents believe that prayer engenders hope and changes things; we acknowledge the Christian God as the one with whom we partner in our work, and we demonstrate a standard of personal and professional behaviour that reflects what would be expected of Christians.
