Rev Dr Stuart Lange
National Director (Interim)
New Zealand Christian Network’s transitional new leader (part-time) is Rev Dr Stuart Lange, a church historian, Presbyterian minister, and member of the NZCN Board.
Dr Stuart Lange is a Senior Research Fellow at Laidlaw College, where he was formerly Vice Principal, and where he has lectured in the history of Christianity for many years. His major book is A Rising Tide: Evangelical Christianity in New Zealand, 1930-65 (Otago University Press, 2013). He is also the writer and presenter of the historical DVD documentary Te Rongopai: 200 years of the Gospel in New Zealand, 1814-2014, which is distributed by NZCN.
Stuart is the Senior Minister of a lively multi-cultural church in West Auckland, Massey Presbyterian, where he heads the staff team and does much of the preaching. Over the years Stuart has been known for his evangelical leadership, both within and beyond his own denomination.
Stuart has four sons, and six grandsons aged two and under. His wife Christine died in 2014, after a long illness. In June 2017, Stuart married Rose Fauchelle. Among his other enthusiasms, Stuart enjoys walking and running in the great outdoors.
General Manager (Interim)
Gayann Phillips is our General Manager (Interim) during the transition phase of the Network. She became our Content Strategist mid 2013, after considerable history doing volunteer work for the network alongside her husband, Stephen. Fostering unity in the body is a high priority in her life and she is working towards that by developing our website to help Christians connect though our online community. Some of her projects at NZCN include visual branding, website development, document formatting and helping establish our overall content strategy.
Born and raised in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Canada, Gayann followed God’s call and moved to New Zealand in 1987, working in the architectural industry as a computer draughtsperson. She has engaged in all things musical within the church as well as continued to study and learn about what goes on around her.
Robert Murray has been the Office Manager since June 2011.
Prior to working at NZ Christian Network Robert was the National Administrator at Child Evangelism Fellowship of NZ for 18 years. The main task in this role was managing the Fellowship’s finances.
Robert also worked for New Zealand Railways for 24 years based in Dunedin and Invercargill. He has also had many years administration experience in the churches he has attended.
Glyn Carpenter has been National Director of New Zealand Christian Network since March 2003, but is currently on sabbatical leave. He is married to Christine (married in 1981) and has three sons – two doctors and a computer science expert.
Prior to working at NZCN Glyn worked for nearly 30 years in the business world in information technology, training, and management in NZ and overseas, including 10 years running ACE Training, a company he co-founded in 1986.
Glyn has been an Associate Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Management (AFNZIM), and has a Master’s degree in Christian Ministry.
As part of his role at NZ Christian Network Glyn also serves on a number of boards and committees. He is also chair of the South Pacific Evangelical Alliance.
Glyn has recently stepped down from his role as National Director and is on sabbatical leave. Please email Gayann with any enquiries and she will try to help you.
Colin and Grace Shaw are well known in pastors’ networks around New Zealand. Their passion for prayer and unity among churches at the city level has seen them lead ministers’ retreats, prayer summits, and regional round-tables, throughout the country over the past 20 years.

Both Colin and Grace are great ambassadors for the Network as they continue to travel the country spreading the Gospel and the message of unity and prayer.
