The Pathway story began in 1997, with three guys, a shared faith and an inspired vision.
Isiaiah 58:12 “Your people will Rebuild the ancient ruins and will Raise up the age-old foiundations; You will be called Repairer of Broken Walls and Restorer of Streets with Dwelllings.”
Our foundation is built on the Christian belief that every person is created in God’s image and can be redeemed when given the right support and resources. Our vision was to establish a business that would fund this transformative work. More than two decades on, Pathway Charitable Group is creating profound social change through Christ-centred compassion.
Whether it’s our unique prisoner reintegration programme at Christchurch Men’s Prison, the Navigate Initiative; our residential drug and alcohol programme, He Kete Oranga o te Mana Wāhine; our community housing provider, Pathway Affordable Housing; or our social enterprises, Alloyfold and Oak Tree Devanning, it’s life changing work rooted in Christian values. But it’s not just life-changing for those we work with.
By serving some of our community’s most marginalised groups, we are helping to break the intra-family cycle of poverty, violence and criminal activities, and helping to make the Christchurch community a stronger and safer place for everyone.
Our work is not funded through government contractrs, rather it is supported through our own social enterprises alongside a community of churches, funders, individual donors, volunteers and impact investors, and we’re always looking for more members of this amazing community.
