Bringing gospel renewal to people and places

Are you passionate about seeing Baptist faith communities bringing gospel renewal to the lives of youth in the communities of which they serve? Do you want to see them discipling young people to fall more in love with Jesus, his Word, and his mission – understanding the relevance of the gospel in their lives and world? Do you want to see Baptist Youth Ministries become a place that Baptist youth leaders and workers across Aotearoa New Zealand want to be part of – their source of vision, resourcing and support, their place of identity, and their tribe of belonging?

We are looking for someone to work closely with our National Leader to help us ensure Baptist Youth Ministries thrive! We want to see our local faith communities supported and resourced through the articulation of a compelling and shared vision for Baptist Youth Ministries in New Zealand, the development of a 3–5-year strategic plan, and the building of a robust framework and structure for seeing this vision achieved.

We need someone who has a deep love for Jesus, the Bible, the church, and the mission of God. A person who is visionary and strategic and able to bring transformational change. They will be highly collaborative, can listen well, responsive, and able to garner buy-in. They can build networks, make connections, and provide practical support to youth leaders and workers now.

This is a full-time, three-year fixed term position. Alternatively, this could be a job-share role with the right candidates. This role will be based at the Support Centre in Penrose, Auckland.

If you believe you have the knowledge, skills, and experience needed, and you support the values and mission of the Baptist Churches of New Zealand, we encourage you to express your interest in the role.

Please send a CV with a covering letter addressing these criteria to kathryn.heslop@baptist.org.nz by 5pm, Friday 13 January 2023.

Interviews for this role will take place toward the end of January/beginning February 2023.
