LifeSwitch (based in the Hutt Valley) exists to connect people to God. We believe that every life is better when Jesus is at the centre. We are absolutely committed to looking beyond ourselves and are driven to take the message of Jesus into spaces. places and people where it hasn’t been before. We unapologetically are outward focused with the vision of being a church unchurched people love to engage with. This focus, more than anything else distinguishes us from other churches.
The Role
We have an exciting new opportunity for a fulltime Leadership and Programming Director. (We are open to negotiate on less hours for the right applicant if that is their preference)
This role exists to:
- Ensure everyone who serves at LifeSwitch feels valued, connected, safe and empowered.
- Ensure that they are well lead, set up for success and deliberately developed so they build skills and attitudes that will help them in every aspect of their life.
- Inspire people to follow Jesus by directing services that leave people wanting to come back and take their next step.
All three of these are essential in positioning LifeSwitch to continue to grow. There is so much potential within the people who are currently part of LifeSwitch and who will be in the future. Focusing on enhancing our culture and establishing & implementing effective systems that reinforce the desired culture, will enable us to maximise the potential of all our people and therefore us as an organisation.
This is a new role that has come about from splitting a previous role in order to prepare for and handle the continued growth we are experiencing.
The Team
You will be joining a cohesive, focused and stable staff team who operate with a high trust model. While everyone has individual responsibilities we work as a team and define our success by what we achieve. - Proven experience in leading leaders
- Experience in building, implementing and overseeing systems that enable our Serve Team members to thrive
- Experience in bringing organisational change
- A passion to reach those who are far from God
- A willingness and hunger to learn
- A high relational skill set with strong conflict management skills
- Experience in leading, supporting, encouraging and engaging volunteers
- The confidence to empower and release high capacity leaders
- A good attention to detail
- A passion for and experience developing talent
- Strong communication skills and comfortable communicating in both small and large settings
- Problem solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Humility that is evidenced by a willingness to emphasise team over self, defining success collectively rather than individually and a lack of excessive ego
- A hunger to look for more – more things to do, more to learn, more responsibility. Plus a mindset that is consistently thinking about the next step and next opportunity
- High emotional intelligence, good intuition around the subtleties of group dynamics and strong conflict management skills
- A self starting, self motivation and diligent work ethic
