Chef / Cook – Full Time

MiCamp is a well-established Christian camp located just south of Taupō. For over 60 years, we’ve been providing a welcoming and vibrant space for school camps, church groups, conferences, family retreats, and more.

We are currently looking for a passionate and experienced Chef or Cook to join our kitchen team in a full-time role. You’ll work alongside our Head Chef and help lead shifts as a team leader, ensuring smooth kitchen operations and excellent service to the groups staying with us.

This is a hands-on role—ideal for someone who enjoys variety, working with people, and creating hearty, nutritious meals in a dynamic environment. You’ll need to be willing to work some weekends, longer hours, and evening shifts as part of the roster.

Key Responsibilities:

Preparing and serving wholesome meals for a wide range of guests, including those with dietary requirements
Leading kitchen operations during rostered shifts
Supporting and training kitchen staff
Helping maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic work environment
Adhering to our Food Safety Programme
Assisting with general camp duties during quieter seasons

We’re looking for someone who:

Has a genuine passion for food and hospitality
Can take initiative and lead with confidence during busy shifts
Works well under pressure and solves problems calmly
Communicates clearly and kindly
Thrives both independently and within a team
Has a heart for service and supports our Christian mission and values
Is willing to complete a standard NZ Police vetting process
