National Director

Lead the next chapter for Scripture Union New Zealand.

•        Lead staff and volunteers with a commitment to evangelism and discipleship for young people and the leaders who work with them.

•        Based in our Wellington office, influencing the spiritual life and wellbeing of children and young people nationwide.

•        Guide strategy, people and partnerships as part of a global network spanning over 120 countries.

After nine years in the role, our National Director is concluding her role in January 2027.  Scripture Union New Zealand (SUNZ) is seeking a National Director to lead our staff and volunteer teams into the next chapter of our mission — helping churches connect with children and young people right across Aotearoa.

This is more than a typical senior leadership role. Reporting to the Board, the National Director leads the development and implementation of SUNZ’s strategic and annual plans, builds and develops the senior staff team, and represents Scripture Union to churches, partners and donors nationwide.

We are looking for a Christian leader with a genuine heart for children and young people’s ministry, and a leadership style shaped by service rather than status. You bring a track record of leading teams and organisations through strategy, change and growth, and you’re just as comfortable in the boardroom as you are speaking from the front of a church.
