About the role
The youth pastor at Taupo Baptist Church will be a team player who inspires youth, their families and the young adult volunteers. He/she will have a vibrant walk with our Father and will be passionate about introducing young people to Jesus. He/she will champion the importance of youth ministry within the wider life of the church and will lead capably in this role. Being an intergenerational church means the youth pastor of Taupo Baptist will build bridges between age-groups and will draw young people into Sunday services and other whole church spaces. He/she will be open to the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Evangelise youth into the kingdom and disciple them towards maturity
About you
Biblical literacy is essential
Preferably holding, or working towards, a qualification in theology
Motivated to help youth grapple with Scripture and engage with the hard questions of faith
Passionate about introducing young people to Jesus
Open to the gifts of the Holy Spirit
About us
Taupo Baptist enjoys a vibrant youth group drawn from Taupo Baptist families, from families that attend other churches and from unbelieving families. The youth ministry is effectively supported by a senior pastor and eldership with a vision for effective discipleship and evangelism within the youth space. The youth leadership team is a capable and committed team of young adults, with a zeal for God and a passion for youth.
This full-time role (40 hours per week) brings with it a requirement to engage in other areas of church life according to the successful applicant’s balance of gifts and motivations and according to the church’s needs. This could include young adults ministry and/or other pastoral functions.
