Associate Pastor (Multigenerational) – Whangārei Central Baptist Church
Are you passionate about building community, and supporting people of all ages to grow in faith together? At Whangārei Central Baptist Church, we are seeking a full-time Associate Pastor to lead and develop a church-wide vision for multigenerational discipleship.

You are:

  • A committed follower of Jesus with a vibrant and growing faith.
  • Spiritually and emotionally mature, with a heart for pastoral care, connection, and discipleship across generations.
  • A natural team builder who knows how to support and grow volunteer capacity.

You will:

  • Lead and support our church’s Pastoral Care Ministry Team.
  • Oversee and build capacity within our Children’s Ministry Team, ensuring a safe, gospel-centred environment for children and families.
  • Plan and lead at least six worship services annually, in collaboration with the Lead Pastor and Worship Coordinator.
  • Foster intentional relationships and shared faith practices across all age groups.
  • Be a visible and caring presence in the church and wider community, working primarily from the church office.

To be considered for this role, you will need the following:

  • New Zealand Citizenship, Permanent Residency, or unrestricted right to live and work in New Zealand.
  • Alignment with the ethos and theological convictions of the Baptist Churches of New Zealand, as it is written in our Constitution.
  • Registration with the Baptist Union of New Zealand (or a willingness to pursue registration).
  • Ability to pass NZ Police Vetting and adhere to WCBC’s Safe Church and Child Protection Policies.
  • Preferably, ministry or theological training, experience in children/family ministry, and strong pastoral and leadership skills.
