We’re called to join God’s renewal of people and places.
Our city is beautiful but broken. God’s heart is for restoration and He invites us to partner with Him. We challenge division and participate in a community that empowers and equips people to live out their faith in our world. We see no line between faith and life, believing that at work, home and church, God is working in us and through us.
As children of God, accepted by grace, we value:
Whānau. As whānau, we are authentic, loving and generous.
We welcome and respect every individual, meeting them where they are, as Christ does for each of us. We are grateful for how He has brought us together as a spiritual family. Like all whānau, we have our ups and downs, but our deep faith in God and honest commitment to one another holds us together. We are open about our lives. Our traditions make us strong, not stale. They help us deepen our faith, grow together and keep our focus on Jesus.
Wholeness. We seek the wholeness that Jesus brings through His Word, Spirit and Community.
We seek to be whole people — clear in identity and purpose — with no line between faith and life. This transformation in our lives touches our hearts, homes, workplaces and city. We live differently as we listen to Jesus through His Word, His Spirit and one another. Instead of leading hurried lives, we find focus. Instead of pursuing self-interest, we are becoming more selfless.
Participation. We are empowered to participate in God’s renewal of our world.
We are secure in our identity as people called by Jesus. This call infuses our lives with intention and passion. We recognise that, wherever we are, we can take part in the kingdom that is and is coming, in our city. We are part of a gospel that demonstrates the attractive and transforming love of God.
Humility. We live, listen and learn as the humble and caring friend we all need.
We have nothing to prove. Jesus has done it all, and we’re secure in that. We are frank about our successes and failures, knowing we’re all human and no one is perfect. We listen well, connecting people’s lives, communities and city with the truth about who God says they are and what He is doing.
