About the Walk
This event is part of Voices for Justice, a collaborative international community focused on securing justice for individuals and communities around the world who are targeted for their faith. Voice of the Martyrs NZ is proud to be part of this global movement.
This date has been chosen to align with the International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict, recognising the reality faced by many women and girls in vulnerable regions.
In 2018, Leah Sharibu was abducted from her school in Nigeria and has remained in captivity for refusing to renounce her faith. Her story has brought global attention to a hidden crisis.
Across Nigeria, Christian women and girls face abduction and violence—often without justice or support.
This walk is an opportunity to stand in solidarity, raise our voices in prayer, and remember those who are too often forgotten. Together, we walk for Leah—and for many others.
