About the role

Christians Against Poverty (CAP) is entering a new season of change, and we’re looking for an experienced Services Trainer to help bring our refreshed services to life. This newly created role is a unique opportunity for someone who is looking for a fixed-term position, for 18 months. As the Services Trainer you will be instrumental in shaping the learning journey of our Services Department. You’ll lead the development, design, and delivery of training initiatives to strengthen the skills, competencies and overall effectiveness of the team.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Develop, design and facilitate best practice industry training
  • Equip staff and volunteers with resources and tools to outwork their roles
  • Collaborate and build strong relationships with internal and external teams
  • Coordinate and organise training and events as required
  • Provide reporting and auditing of training processes as required

You’ll also bring relevant experience for the role:

  • Proven experience as a certified Financial Mentor is desirable
  • Strong understanding of learning and development best practice
  • Demonstrable experience developing training content and material across diverse audiences
  • Knowledge and experience creating constructive learning environments
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Well-developed coaching and mentoring skills
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal, in both formal and informal contexts
  • Excellent relationship building and people skills
  • Proven experience galvanising a team towards new ways of working

Christians Against Poverty (CAP) is a professional and client-centric service provider. We are a not-for-profit organisation with a vision of ‘’Ending money chaos in Aotearoa’’.

CAP provides free practical help and hope to people living in unmanageable debt and hardship. Partnering with over 150 local churches from Kaitaia to Dunedin, CAP releases New Zealanders into lives of fullness and freedom.
