Forge Partners is a growing accounting and advisory firm dedicated to supporting churches and charities across New Zealand. As our client base continues to expand, we’re looking for an Intermediate Accountant to join our team and help deliver high-quality financial support to organisations making a real difference.

About the Role
This is a flexible, fully remote position (based anywhere in NZ), ideal for someone looking for meaningful work, a strong team environment, and the opportunity to grow.

You’ll be working across a range of clients, primarily in the not-for-profit and church space, supporting their day-to-day financial operations and helping them succeed in their mission.

Key responsibilities include:

Xero-based bookkeeping and accounting
GST returns and compliance
Payroll processing
General accounting support
Preparing annual returns
Supporting system development and process improvement

About You
We’re looking for someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, and enjoys being part of a team.

Ideally, you will have:

2–5 years’ accounting experience (flexible for the right person)
Strong working knowledge of Xero
Solid Excel skills
Experience with charities reporting
Good understanding of GST and payroll processes
Strong communication and organisational skills
You don’t need to be client-facing initially, but there is opportunity to grow into this over time.
