Transforming Communities Through Christ's Love
Mobilization/Development Director – Awakening New Zealand for the Unreached
The Opportunity
What if God used you to spark a missions movement across New Zealand?
Every day, comfortable Kiwi Christians go about their lives while billions still wait to hear the gospel for the first time. Someone needs to awaken them. Someone needs to give them vision, tools, and opportunity to impact their generation for Christ.
That someone could be you.
We’re looking for a self-motivated encourager who can cast vision, build relationships and mobilize the New Zealand church to care about the unreached.
What You’ll Actually Be Doing (And Why It Matters)
Your mission is simple but profound: Awaken Kiwis to Christ’s heart for the unreached and give them tools to make an eternal impact.
You’ll do this by being GFA’s relational engine across New Zealand—connecting, inspiring, and mobilizing believers to send, pray and go.
You’ll be:
- Creating content that stirs hearts—social media (Facebook, Instagram, X), emails, and campaigns that challenge comfortable Christianity and awaken passion for the lost.
- Representing GFA in person—at prayer meetings, Christian conferences, and events across New Zealand (typically 1-2 per month), sharing stories and vision that move people to action.
- Building relationships with churches—presenting the ministry, casting vision for missions, and helping pastors mobilize their congregations for the unreached.
- Partnering with the NZ Christian world—cultivating healthy relationships with other mission organizations and Christian networks so we’re stronger together.
- Developing strategic campaigns—multi-channel initiatives that move people from awareness to engagement to lifelong partnership.
- Nurturing new relationships—crafting email and SMS follow-up sequences that welcome people into the mission and help them find their place in reaching the unreached.
You’ll work closely with our Australia and U.S. teams, participate in weekly prayer meetings, and have the freedom to shape how we mobilize New Zealand for the gospel.
Who You Are
You’re not looking for “just a job.” You’re looking for an opportunity to call the church into its mission.
Maybe you’re:
- A former missionary who can’t return to the field but burns to mobilize others to go.
- A young marketing professional who loves Jesus and want to use your skills to count for eternity.
- A church communicator tired of promoting events instead of the gospel.
- Someone with a fire in your bones for the unreached and the ability to light that fire in others.
You bring:
- A genuine love for Jesus and a heart for the lost (this fuels everything).
- Self-motivation—you don’t need someone standing over you; you’re driven by vision and relationship with Christ.
- People skills and an encouraging spirit—you energize others and make them believe God can use them.
- Baseline marketing/communication ability (we’ll train you in the rest).
- Comfort with posting social media, email platforms, and occasionally creating compelling content. (Much content will already be created for you by other GFA staff)
- Ability to speak publicly and cast vision (whether to 10 people or 500).
- Humility and a solid walk with Christ.
- Agreement with GFA’s statement of faith.
- Bonus (but not required): Have served cross-culturally or seen the unreached firsthand.
We don’t expect expertise in all these areas, but some giftings and skills with a teachable heart to learn.
The Pathway
Start: 20 hours per week at $30/hour
Flexibility: We’ll work with your schedule—this could be mornings only, 3 full days, or another arrangement that fits your life.
Travel: Expect 1-2 events per month on average (more during conference season). GFA covers all travel expenses.
Growth potential: If you’re a good fit with our mission and values, this could lead to full-time work after a 1-year trial period. Full-time staff are required to raise personal support (a model many mission organizations use to expand kingdom impact without being limited by budget constraints). We will train you and walk you through the process step-by-step.
This role is Auckland-based, though some remote work may be possible depending on circumstances.
Why This Matters
New Zealand has resources, passion, and believers who want their lives to count. But most don’t know where to start. Most have never considered the billions of men, women and children who are still unreached.
You change that.
Every post you write, every presentation you give, every relationship you build could be the catalyst that sends someone to the field, inspires a church to pray, or awakens a donor to give sacrificially.
One mobilizer. Hundreds of churches. Thousands awakened. Millions impacted.
That’s exponential kingdom impact.
