·        I have a passion to make a difference in the lives of whānau.

·        I enjoy encouraging the early learning of tamariki.

·        I want to have fun while I work.

·        I enjoy the challenge of learning new skills.

If one or more of the above describes you, then read on!

mainly music currently has a position available within Tamaki Makaurau (Auckland) in the Ōtara area running a mainly music session for Ōtara Barnardos Early Learning Centre. This session is held at the centre for tamariki attending that day with the support of the centre staff. The aim of the session is to contribute to the educational development of tamariki. Whānau are also encouraged to stay and join in the session at drop off time so there is opportunity for helping build and develop connection and attachment between mātua and tamaiti.

We have one session on offer at this time with 4 hours per week allocated. Some of the allocated hours will be used on the day of the session and for scheduled meetings held on a Wednesday at 1pm. The balance can be used on another day of your choosing. There is potential for other sessions to be added which would then increase the hours for this role.

The right person for this role will be someone who wants to bring delight into the lives of whānau. Experience working with tamariki under 5 is not essential but an advantage in this role. Experience in education or community work will also be helpful.

You will be someone who has:

·        strong organisational and communication skills and is comfortable with technology

·        a willingness to learn

·        own reliable transport and a suitable driver’s licence

We are a for purpose organisation, with all staff having the passion to work under the umbrella of a Christian statement of faith. You will be someone who has a passion for local mission and a desire to work with the mainly music Supported Groups Team, amongst whānau experiencing vulnerability.

We provide training and on-going development.

Please email customerservice@mainlymusic.org for application details to be sent to you.
