Supporting young people to soar

PACT is looking for a passionate Female Senior Youth Worker to join our team full-time. This role has three key areas of responsibility:

  1. Mentoring rangatahi at Papatoetoe High School (with a focus on Year 9–10 girls).
  2. Coordinating and delivering our new group-based life skills programme.
  3. Providing support within Te Kupenga, our Alternative Education Programme.

You’ll be helping young people grow in confidence, emotional resilience, social skills, and engagement with learning—through one-on-one mentoring and group-based interventions. This mahi is grounded in PACT’s Christian kaupapa and guided by the Te Whare Tapa Whā model of wellbeing.

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Proven experience working with rangatahi in a youth work, education or mentoring role.
  • A relevant qualification in youth work, social work, or a related field.
  • Strong relational skills and the ability to connect with diverse cultures and communities.
  • Confidence in group facilitation and programme delivery.
  • A heart for young people and a commitment to Christian values.
  • A full, clean driver’s license (required for transporting rangatahi and travelling between sites)

An immediate start is preferred. This is a high-trust role for someone who is passionate about seeing rangatahi thrive and ready to make a meaningful impact in their community.
