Children’s & Families Pastor
(Part-time, 12 hours per week, 12-month fixed term, $25.00 per hour)

We’re seeking a dynamic Children’s & Families Pastor to join our church community.  We’re a small church, who meet on Sunday afternoons at the West End Rowing Club in Avondale, but with a big heart to bring life to our City of Sails. This part-time role is perfect for someone with a heart for children and a passion for helping them establish and grow in a vibrant two-way relationship with God.

As our Children’s & Families Pastor, you’ll prepare and lead engaging Sunday sessions that inspire children to grow in their faith while having a blast. Through Bible teaching that’s creative, inspiring and interactive, you’ll create a nurturing environment where children can thrive spiritually and socially.  You’ll also be alongside our parents, encouraging them in their most important role of nurturing faith in Jesus in their children’s lives.  You’ll be working with our volunteers in children’s ministry, encouraging them and arranging training where required.  There’s also scope in the role to build new connections with families not currently linked with our church by, for example, running a parenting course.

You’ll be enthusiastic, compassionate, and eager to make a difference in the lives of children and families. You’ll have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an understanding of child development and age-appropriate teaching methods.  You’ll be committed to fostering a safe and inclusive environment.
