Senior Administrator (Fixed-Term – Maternity Leave Cover)

We are seeking a highly organised, proactive Senior Administrator to provide administration support to our National Director and wider team. This is a fixed-term role covering maternity leave from Monday 13 August 2026 to Friday 19 February 2027.

About the Role
This is a pivotal role at the heart of our organisation, supporting leadership, coordinating systems, and managing communications across a nationwide team. You’ll bring clarity, structure, and strong administration to help SCNZ operate effectively and stay connected.

The role is 30–40 hours per week (negotiable) and primarily work-from-home, with an office available in Johnsonville for Wellington-based applicants.
Note: Paid training (2 weeks) begins 29 June 2026, ahead of the contract start date.

Key Responsibilities
Provide trusted administrative support to the National Director
Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, and take clear, accurate minutes
Track priorities, actions, and deadlines across the organisation
Manage SCNZ communications, including website, newsletters, and social media
Maintain databases, document systems, and organisational records
Support financial administration (expenses, invoicing, reporting)
Coordinate chaplain accreditation processes
Assist with national events, staff coordination, and organisational workflows
Help maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, partners, and funders

What We’re Looking For
Proven experience in a senior administration or coordination role
Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
Confident communicator (written and verbal)
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and database systems
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
High level of discretion, reliability, and professionalism
A collaborative team player who thrives in a distributed (remote) environment
