Website Twin Oaks Classical School
Cultivating truth, beauty and goodness
Twin Oaks Classical School is excited to be pioneering a new model of education in Aotearoa that will help children and whānau to flourish. We are looking for New Zealand registered teachers who are skilled at working with primary aged learners to join our Establishment team.
This represents an exciting opportunity to participate in an innovative learning pathway that collaborates closely with families. The Twin Oaks partnership model allows children to enjoy being educated three days in the classroom and then continue the work of learning at home under the direction of parents. Twin Oaks teachers will be skilled at working alongside families and see parents as meaningful partners in their children’s education. All staff will be well supported by both the Pastoral Lead and a comprehensive professional development plan.
We will be teaching a Classical Charlotte Mason curriculum which is rooted in two time-tested pedagogies. Our curriculum is broad, knowledge-rich, and leans towards the Liberal Arts; it will also be delivered within the context of the Christian tradition.
Our new teachers are not expected to have classroom experience using the Classical Charlotte Mason approach, however we are looking for evidence that candidates understand the big ideas, believe in their value and are willing to engage proactively in an ongoing learning programme.
Our four special characteristics are:
- Classical curriculum
- Charlotte Mason classroom practice
- Collaborative with parents
- Anchored in the Christian Tradition
We believe these models of learning are naturally more restful for teachers and involve considerably less planning.
The role is four days a week: three in the classroom and one remotely.
Successful candidates will enjoy better work-life balance and the joy of being part of a fun and highly dedicated team. If you are ready to participate in a world-wide educational renaissance, check out our website, download our candidate information and be in touch to discuss the role:
