Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Communications and Content Coordinator to manage the formatting and distribution of electronic communications, articles, and visual content across various platforms. The successful candidate will possess strong technical skills, proficiency with MailerLite, WordPress, Canva, and database management, and an eye for design.

Place of work, software, and equipment:

  • Remote work – NZCN does not have any office facilities
  • You will need to provide your own computer equipment, cell phone, internet connection, and office equipment
  • Most meetings take place either on Zoom or over the phone
  • Most communication is handled via email (MS Office 365) and files are stored in SharePoint
  • NZCN pays for all subscriptions for software and online applications

Key Responsibilities:

As a Communications and Content Coordinator, you will be responsible for a range of tasks related to digital communications, content management, and document creation. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

1.      Newsletter Email Communications (NZCN Weekly on Fridays plus others):

  • Format and design engaging and visually appealing emails using MailerLite drag and drop email application.
  • Adding and maintaining job, event, and notice listings from NZCN members
  • Ensure the weekly emails are properly segmented and targeted to the appropriate audience
  • Manage email lists
  • Prepare statistics for annual report

2.      WordPress & Content Management:

  • Post articles, blogs, and updates on our WordPress websites, ensuring consistent formatting and layout for each brand
  • Manage the online store, which includes creating new products in the shop (registration and tickets for events) associated invoices are sent from the site, and sales reports generated as required
  • Monitor website performance, identify issues, keep plugins up to date, and co-ordinate with web developer as required
  • Our sites are built using the Divi visual editor and our main site integrates the following application plugins: WooCommerce, MemberPress, GeoDirectory, and WP Job Manager

3.      Video Content Creation:

  • Format videos for uploading to Facebook, YouTube, Vimeo and our related websites, which includes editing and adding opening/closing video elements and video thumbnails
  • Manage our YouTube and Vimeo channels
  • Prepare statistics for annual report

4.      Social Media Management:

  • Curate and schedule engaging posts on our Facebook page to increase brand visibility and engagement
  • Monitor social media interactions and if a response is required, bring to the attention of the board to determine an appropriate comment
  • Prepare statistics for annual report

5.      Visual Content Creation:

  • Design and create visually appealing images, graphics, and promotional materials using Canva for the various brands and events operated by NZ Christian Network
  • Ensure all visuals align with our brand guidelines and resonate with our target audience

6.      Document Creation:

  • Format and prepare documents for electronic and printed distribution
  • Prayer Breakfasts and related projects involve collaborating with other ministries
  • Maintain branding for all NZCN specific documents/events

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment
  • Experience in using MailerLite or similar drag and drop email applications for email marketing
  • Competent in basic text formatting for emails and blog posts to improve readability
  • Proficiency in graphic design using Canva or similar tools
  • Familiarity with basic spreadsheeting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of digital marketing principles and strategies
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail and a keen eye for design aesthetics

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in WordPress for website management and the ability to learn more
  • Experience in analysing email and website performance using relevant analytics tools
  • Knowledge of social media advertising and paid promotion strategies
  • Prior experience in communications, content creation, or a related role is preferred
